Wedding in Puerto Vallarta

We celebrated our tenth year anniversary recently and it was amazing! We decided we would do a destination wedding since we loved our first visit to Puerto Vallarta a few years back. It was a lot of work, to work only over the phone and through email, but it was worth every headache. I had dreamed of getting married on the beach and by the ocean somewhere. I don't know when I think of the ocean I think and feel closer to GOD. I feel like my little problems or struggles are nothing compared to the sacrifices and gifts that GOD has given us. It makes me appreciate life it self.

We had gotten married on December 11th and wanted that date but it was not available so we opted for Dec 17. So now we have two anniversary dates. :) Through all the planning we had decided if we were going to get married on the beach that we didn't need anything but a photographer, so that we could capture all the special moments! So we looked around and spoke to different people. But the one person/company that stood out to us was BRIDGECOLOR PHOTOGRAPHY. Marisa was so helpful and such a sweetheart that it made us feel so comfortable with having the wedding in PV. So we hired her and it was probably the best thing we ever did. She was so helpful and creative. Not only did she do my photos that I will cherish for a life time...she also did custom maracas to shake at the kiss. I wanted my guest to get a little keepsake to take home. :)

Now with my wedding dress & wedding attire... I wanted something very simple and for the boys in my life I wanted them to wear a black coat and khaki pants. As for me and my dress all I knew is that I wanted to wear Tarina Tarantino jewelry. I was excited to find the perfect pieces to accent my dress. I think I did.

It was such a beautiful evening & great vacation! If you ever want to go to a friendly place, or you need a photographer pick Puerto Vallarta & Bridgecolor Photography. Best experience of my life!

Cheers!

Glittery Accent Nails

So I've decided to officially jump on the one-glitter-nail bandwagon. Problem with this for me in the past is that if I wanted an "accent" glittered nail, I wanted it to be mega, super, ridiculously glittery. If you've ever searched for a nail polish to do that with, you feel my frustration. To get that solid, super ridic glitter effect from a glitter nail polish, you might need a few coats. Resulting in what normally turns out for me to be a super thick, messy, lumpy, (still not glittery enough) nail. So I have found a perfect way to get a super pretty, solid-glitter, perfect accent nail...using.....actual glitter. You can get super fine or chunky glitter at the craft store which can be an affordable option that works perfectly, or you can do what I did and use those MAC glitters that you bought because they were super pretty but they've ended up in the back of your drawer because you never use them. Sounds messy, but I swear it's not. And it's easier and faster than using tons of coats of glitter nail polish. And did I mention the results are insane??
Here's what to do:
1. Paint all of your nails a normal non-glittery color.
2. Pick an "accent" nail for the glitter (Or go crazy and do all of them...your call.)
3. Use a thick top coat like Seche Vite and paint that over the nail to be glittered.
4. Working over a paper plate or bowl, gently dip the nail into the glitter or sprinkle the glitter directly over the nail (like I did in this case because the container was too small for dipping action).
5. Let the glitter "set" for a minute or two, giving the Seche Vite or whatever you've chosen time to dry.
6. Rinse the nail under cold water to get any excess glitter off the nail. Don't worry, if it's cold water, it won't mess anything up.
7. Paint another coat of the Seche Vite or topcoat of your choice over the glitter.

The process seriously takes as little as a couple minutes. It's my new favorite trick! Here's another tip though... If you're planning on doing this a lot, invest in another bottle of Seche Vite or whatever type of topcoat you like that will be designated just for glitter. Occasionally, a fleck of glitter can find it's way into the bottle of topcoat and will most likely end up back on your nails when you don't necessarily want that random glitter flecked look. It'll be worth it, trust me. :)
Hope you guys try this out! It's so fun!

SwimSuits!

Ok so it is definitely cold outside which is more the reason to take a little vacation and head to the beach! I was checking out some of the best deals for some suits for my upcoming trip to Jamaica which I found for a great deal on Kayak.com (woo hoo!) and I discovered a few great bargains at victoriasecret.com, oldnavy.com and target.com. FYI I went with the Victoria Secret suit. Just thought I would share my finds. Do you know of any great places to buy swimsuits?

My New Heart...

My new love...My husband just got me this beautiful necklace from Tarina Tarantino...and I LOOOOVE it so much!!! It's the best jewelry piece I own except for my wedding ring of course. :0) It is so unique, when I look at it, it seems a bit magical. I am lost for words. I am truly becoming a fan of TARINA TARANTINO. I am so excited!
