LUSH: Brazened Honey

A powerhouse of effective ingredients for tired skin.

I recently bought this face mask. Not really knowing about LUSH or their products.I bought the Brazened Honey Mask hoping that I chose the right one. These mask are fresh ingredients and are only good for about two weeks.(this is why you won’t find them on their website, only in real stores!) I used it a couple of days ago and my skin feels so smooth! And it smelled so good. I also bought other items at LUSH and I am excited to try them out. But this is a must buy for me when I do visit another LUSH store. :0)

For a seriously clean face:

Kaolin reaches deep down into pores to pull out dirt and impurities, leaving your skin noticeably brighter and fresher. Brazened Honey is very stimulating, so if you're quite sensitive, we recommend navigating towards Catastrophe Cosmetic or Oatifix instead!

Ingredients:

* Kaolin,
* Talc,
* Fresh Organic Lime Juice (Citrus aurantifolia),
* Sage (Salvia officinalis) Infusion,
* Rosemary and Juniperberry Infusion (Salvia officinalis, Rosmarinus officinalis, Juniperus communis),
* Fresh Free Range Eggs,
* Honey (Mel),
* Glycerine,
* Fresh Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare),
* Ground Almond Shells (Prunus dulcis),
* Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis),
* Bentonite Gel,
* Fresh Ginger Root (Zingiber officinalis),
* Fresh Parsley (Carum petroselinum),
* Fresh Coriander (Coriandrum sativum),
* Ground Turmeric (Curcuma longa),
* Ground Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum),
* Clove Bud Oil (Eugenia caryophyllus),
* Ginger Oil (Zingiber officinale),
* Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides),
* Juniperberry Oil (Juniperus communis),
* *Benzyl Salicylate,
* *Eugenol,
* *Geraniol,
* *Benzyl Benzoate,
* *Linalool,
* Perfume.

My Favorite Product For The Month Of December::

I thought I'd post what I have been using for awhile that I can't do without. I just started using two products that I am hooked on!

First Product:
Bedhead Masterpiece Shine Hairspray

I have been using this since two years ago! I first bought when I went on a trip to Mexico and fell in love with this hairspray. I have tried so many hairsprays and have not found one that is comparable to this one. My whole family uses this hairspray and I keep it in stock. My daughter Ava loves this hairspray she says she loves the way it smells. I do too! It add the right amount of shine & hold.

and

My Second Product:
Glitter and Ice: Holiday Colour Collection in Morning Frost

It is a perfect color that adds that shine that I most defintely need! I have been using it everyday since I got it and love the way it brightens and adds sparkle. It's a limited edition...and I think I will be ordering another. :0)

Hope You Guys Have A Sparkling Friday!

True Inspiration:: Ilona Royce Smithkin

I was searching the internet for feather eyelashes...don't ask me why? Just love fashion forward looks. :0) And I came across this wonderful video! As a long time dream as a fashion designer, she is so inspiring. She seems to have so much knowledge. Especially since she is 90! She has a great outlook on life. I especially love how she wears her eyelashes and how she says she has a good relationship with her eyelashes and body. She is such a lovely person! She is my new hero. I love people who inspire and people who dare to be different. It make life worth it. :0)

While searching Ilona, I found another video of "How You Don't Have To Be Perfect!." I guess the quotes are true..."the older the wiser" or "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." ~Mark Twain

Happy Friday! Cheers!

On My Wish List:

I have been looking for "shear" necklaces for awhile. And now the looking is over because I am set on this new necklace from Tarina Tarantino!

This is on my wish list for sure....Maybe when the time gets closer I'll post my Christmas wish list. :0) (Every year after Halloween it seems as if retail is blocking Thanksgiving out and just jumping to Christmas! I find it kinda sad since I love spending time with Family and eating pumpkin pie. :0)Right after Halloween you hear all the Christmas music and Christmas decorations. Do you feel like Christmas is coming earlier and earlier every year???)

H&M Versace Collection:

H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) is a Swedish retail clothing company known for their fast fashion clothing for Women, Men and Children clothing. The company started in 1947 by Erling Persson in Västerås, Sweden. At the time it only sold women clothing and was called Hennes, Swedish for "hers". H&M is known for their fashion forward designs and affordability. They are also know as a company that collaborates with high end designers. Throughout the years they have teamed up with many designers.

H&M's newest team-up is with Versace. And let me say they have some great items. Here are a few that stuck out to me. Some of these designs remind me of Custo Barcelona. Very vibrant colors and very unique patterns. But you know it's Versace by it's unique design.

Here are some of H&M's team-ups:

In 2004- Karl Lagerfeld. The press reported large crowds and that the initial inventories in the larger cities were sold out within an hour!
In 2005- Stella McCartney
In 2006- Viktor & Rolf (Love Flower Bomb by Viktor & Rolf :0))
In 2007- Madonna, Roberto Cavalli, Kylie Minogue
In 2008- Comme des Garçons
In 2009- Matthew Williamson, Jimmy Choo
In 2010- Lanvin
In 2011- Versace

Violent Lips

Remember those amazing but tacky tattoo transfers that most of us used to wear as kids???
Growing up I had tons of My little pony tattoo's in my collection.
Well, transfers are making a comeback in the beauty world but in very different way. Firstly it was nail transfers, then it was eye shadow designs. Well they can both step aside to make way for lip transfers. Recentely seen on many celebrities.
Violent Lip who have pioneered the innovative new creations, were only available in the US and via their website. But now you can get them at Sephora! Usually costing $14.95 for three applications. These are definetly a head turner. They look so unique! My favorite is the leopard design. I know I know...crazy!...I just love craziness. :0)

The Best Foundation Video...Ever!

Probably The Best Foundation Video Ever! Dermablend

This is probably an old video but for those who have not seen it, it's a must see.
Rick Genest, also know as Zombie Boy, he was also on the Lady Gaga Born this Way video. Rick has tattoos that were covered with Dermablend and they did a great job...he's skin looks flawless and it looks amazing! The video starts with
"How do you judge a book?" I think it makes you think of how people would persevere him on the streets. After watching the video I feel I can see the great person he may be. I am definetly wanting to try this Dermablend, and I am now a fan of Rick Genest!

Check out the behind the scenes, it is a great video too!

Makeup Forever: NEW Flou Night Powder

I came across this and thought this was so neat! Makeup Forever Fluo Night Powder. With Halloween just around the corner, people will be looking for that special little touch that will make them stand out from the crowd, like Makeup Forever Flou Night. Why stand out when you can simply glow in the dark? This seemingly innocent white, powdery substance actually glows fluorescent under ultraviolet light, allowing a person to assume a completely different alter ego at night (or simply in the dark).

Although particularly perfect for such occasions as Halloween, Makeup Forever Flou Night could also be used regularly for those unique and quirky enough to apply it. Makeup Forever Flou Night shows that people are looking for ways to embrace both their professional side and their party side—in a fun and sneaky manner. And it's only $31 at Sephora.

SIGMA: New Sigmax Precision Synthetic Brushes

The Synthetic Precision Kit was developed to mimic your fingertips when applying makeup on your most sensitive and precise areas of your face. This line utilizes the exclusive Sigmax fibers for extreme softness and easy makeup application. These came out today! I am really excited to try them out!

P80 - Precision Flat

The small, dense and flat top is ideal to conceal blemishes, sun spots and small imperfections on the skin. It can be used to stipple concealer on defined areas, followed by precise application of setting powder.

P82 - Precision Round
The rounded top was designed to mimic your fingertips, making this brush ideal to apply eye shadow primers. It can also be used for the precise application of highlight shades on the bridge of the nose, cheek bones and cupid's bow.

P84 - Precision Angled
The small angled top makes this brush perfect for precise contouring on the sides of the nose and contouring the hollows of the cheek bones. It can also be used to highlight the brow bone.

P86 - Precision Tapered

The tapered shape of this brush is ideal for application of concealer under the eyes and on defined areas such as the sides of the nose, chin and around the mouth. This brush can also be used to perfectly apply concealer around the lips to prevent color bleeding.

Twin Project:

Just Because Gift::

I have two identical twin nephews and of course they are always getting called the wrong name so I thought this would be a good "just because" gift. They are only two and have no idea what they say but everyone else does. :0) So no more wrong names when they wear these! And it helps me out too cause I can barely tell them apart!

Back to Cool....

Essentials for back to cool (school).

Ok so it's that time again for back to school....And that means shopping for new clothes. Most of us need to be on a budget. We have to only buy the essentials for the year. Because not only do you have to buy school clothes but you have to get a bag and makeup and other small items that add up. :0)

I think the essentials consist of:

Jeans (Nice fitted jeans, I would prefer dark denim, since you can dress up or down)
Shoes (Flats, boots & Sneakers)(Old Navy has great deals and styles)
Tops (Dressy, and casual)
Accessories (Forever 21 for jewelry that you can add to your clothes to change it up)
Sweater/Jacket
Handbag (Nothing to expensive so that you can change it out, or buy two!)
Makeup

Places to Shop:
Old Navy
Target * My favorite place
Marshalls
Forever 21

Hope this gives you some ideas!

Half Moon Nails

There were so many exciting nail trends on the runways this past season. One of my favorites was the half-moon manicure as seen at Vena Cava and Ruffian. Even though the half-moon mani may look like it's difficult to achieve, it’s actually really easy to do!

If you’re unfamiliar with the half-moon style, here's a few example photos:

Below, I have put together a little step-by-step tutorial on how to give yourself a half-moon manicure:

Helpful Makeup Tips:

As a professional makeup artist, not only do I have to organize a massive amount of product, I have to be efficient, clean and current. I actually have a small room devoted to my makeup supplies! Whether you have loads of lipstick and liner, or just a handful of essentials, getting everything in order will leave you feeling lighter and “beautifully” re-energized. You might even discover a treasure (or two) that you’d forgotten about!

Divide and Conquer: To start, you want to de-clutter. Sift out any makeup that falls into these categories: “I bought that so many years ago," “I can’t remember when I last wore it," or “It’s broken/almost gone, but I can salvage it.” Now, put it in the trash. All of it. I know it’s hard, but makeup doesn’t age well like wine. Instead, it can become filled with bacteria. (And who likes getting zits, or a case of pink eye?)

Next, determine which items are daily staples. These are the products you know you look great in, like that reliable black dress. Also, decide on some “accessory colors.” These are the shades you apply depending on your mood and/or outfit. Throw these color options in for variety.

Put the leftover makeup that you just can't part with in separate boxes or bags. You can dab and swirl these when you have time to play around. (No sneaking things that should have gone into the trash!)

Storage Solutions: Divvy up your makeup by type. Eyeshadow in one pile. Mascara in another. You get the picture! Put each pile into its own clear box or bag. Containers like these let you really see what you’ve got to work with, with the added benefit of being portable. I use accessory boxes from The Container Store, which are budget friendly, made in the USA, and stackable with lids.

For larger items, like extra cotton pads and sponges, I use clear shoeboxes. I also like basic, see-through bags. I use them for my own personal stash of makeup. Plus, they’re easy to drop in your purse or suitcase when you’re on the run.

Speaking of “on the run,” when I’m at photo shoots, or on a plane, I put anything that might leak into spill-proof and incredibly durable Eagle Creek Pack-It bags.

I suggest keeping brushes in their own bag so they don’t pick up germs and color from your cosmetics. We makeup artists use brush rolls to keep them separate and clean, and to keep the bristles from becoming distorted.

You certainly don’t need to invest in anything overly fancy, and I’ve even seen sites that teach you how to make your own! The most important thing is that you have your brushes lying flat in a closed bag, not in a cup where they can collect dust and bacteria.

Wipe Out: Makeup can be hard to keep clean, but it’s important to try. Every so often, give everything a good wipe down with a cleaning cloth: the compacts, the tubes, and the containers you keep it all in. Also, be sure to clean your brushes on a regular basis. Use a gentle soap (one that doesn’t have sodium laureth sulfate) and warm water. Gently squeeze out any excess H20, re-shape, and lie flat. Letting them dry upright can cause the hair to shed.
